NZeTA Requirement

The New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) remains mandatory for all visa waiver country citizens and cruise passengers. This requirement, introduced in 2019, continues to be a key part of New Zealand's border security system.

Who Needs an NZeTA in 2025?

Citizens of 60+ visa waiver countries including USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and most European nations
All cruise ship passengers visiting New Zealand ports, regardless of nationality
Travelers transiting through New Zealand airports

Apply for your NZeTA through our online application portal at least 72 hours before departure.

Valid Passport Requirements

Your passport must meet these criteria:

Valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from New Zealand
In good condition with readable information and photo
Contain at least one blank page for entry stamps
Be the same passport used in your NZeTA application

International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL)

The IVL fee of $35 NZD continues to be required for most visitors. This levy funds tourism infrastructure and conservation projects. The IVL is included in your NZeTA application fee and is valid for the same 2-year period.

Health and Medical Requirements

No Specific Vaccinations Required

New Zealand doesn't require specific vaccinations for most travelers. However, it's recommended to ensure your routine vaccinations are up-to-date, including measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination.

Health Declaration
